Garment Measurements

All measurements below are in inches. Bust is measured flat across the garment, not around the body.

Bust and sleeve measurements are approximate. Abaya styles and fits may vary; please check the individual product details for any style-specific measurements.

How to Measure

Use a soft tape measure over light clothing, keeping it level and comfortably close without pulling tight.

Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest. Waist: Measure around your natural waistline. These are body circumferences, unlike the flat bust widths above. Doubling the flat width gives an approximate garment circumference; allow extra room for movement and layering.

Compare the chart with an abaya that fits you well. Lay it flat to measure across the bust, and measure the length from the shoulder to the hem. Compare sleeve measurements using the same measurement points as the chart diagram.

Choosing Length and Fit

In this chart, sizes 50–60 correspond to garment lengths of 50–60 inches, not body measurements. Choose length based on your preferred hem position and footwear. A longer size may suit a taller wearer; a shorter size may suit a petite wearer, but check bust and sleeve measurements before sizing up or down.

For a fuller bust or waist, allow enough room at your largest measurement rather than choosing by height alone. This chart does not list waist or hip measurements; ask for style-specific measurements if you need more room in those areas.

Coverage Checks

Ankle coverage: Sit down when checking fit, as the hem can rise when seated. Choose sufficient length for your preferred coverage without letting the hem trail on the floor.

Sleeve coverage: Check where the cuff sits with your arms relaxed and reaching forward. Compare the sleeve length with a garment you already wear comfortably.

Fit by Style

Closed abaya: Check room around the body for comfortable movement and layering. Open abaya: Designed to be worn as an open-front layer; check coverage with your inner outfit. Kaftan: Typically has a wider, flowing cut, but the amount of room varies by design. Check each style's measurements rather than automatically sizing down.
